There is so much unrest and wickedness in the world\ntoday, it feels as if there is little hope for a peaceful future. Much of the\nevil persists in the darkest of the day, under the cover of night. \u201c<strong>The way of the wicked <em>is<\/em> as\ndarkness: they know not at what they stumble<\/strong>\u201d (Proverbs 4:19). What is one to do?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>God knew the wickedness in the\nhearts of people. Remember: \u201c<strong>2. The LORD looked down from heaven upon the\nchildren of men, to see if there were any that did understand, <em>and<\/em> seek\nGod.&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>3. They are all gone\naside, they are <em>all<\/em> together become filthy: <em>there is<\/em> none that\ndoeth good, no, not one<\/strong>\u201d (Psalm 14:2-3). What a sad state people\ncame to be! Yet because God loved us, he sent His Son, Jesus. He gave Jesus to\nbe the light to bring people out of that darkness. \u201c<strong>Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world:\nhe that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of\nlife<\/strong>\u201d (John 8:12). In the\nlight, one can see. One can know where to go. Why is it so important to follow\nthe Light, Jesus? \u201c<strong>To open their\neyes, <em>and<\/em> to turn <em>them<\/em> from darkness to light, and <em>from<\/em>\nthe power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and\ninheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me<\/strong>\u201d\n(Acts 26:18). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What an amazing thing Jesus is able\nto do: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>turn one from darkness to light<\/li><li>turn one from the power of Satan\nunto God<\/li><li>give forgiveness of sins<\/li><li>give an inheritance by faith in\nJesus <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Read how Jesus simply stated it: \u201c<strong>I am come a light into the world, that\nwhosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness<\/strong>\u201d (John 12:46). Who wouldn\u2019t want to live in the light\nas opposed to living in darkness (where wickedness abounds)? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So why is the world still in such\ndarkness? \u201c<strong>And this is the\ncondemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather\nthan light, because their deeds were evil<\/strong>\u201d (John 3:19). Some people just love darkness rather\nthan light, because their deeds are evil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What are those who choose Jesus,\nthe Light, to do? First, remember from whence you came. If you give your heart\nand life to Jesus, you are no longer that person you once were. You are a new\ncreature in Christ, so you no longer do the wickedness of the darkness. \u201c<strong>For ye were sometimes darkness, but now <em>are\nye<\/em> light in the Lord: walk as children of light<\/strong>\u201d (Ephesians\n5:8).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How can this world become a\nbrighter, less dark place to live? We are to be a light in this world. We must\ntell more people about Jesus so that they can have the opportunity to turn from\nthe darkness of sin to the Light of Jesus. \u201c<strong>14. Ye are the light of the\nworld. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.&nbsp;15. Neither do men\nlight a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth\nlight unto all that are in the house.<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>16.
