In addition, God\nprovided one who paid the penalty for us \u2014 if only we would receive. \u201c<strong>But\nGod commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ\ndied for us<\/strong>\u201d (Romans 5:8). Just as God extended a call to the Israelites,\nwarning them before judgment would fall, God warns us today. \u201c<strong>And as it is\nappointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment<\/strong>\u201d (Hebrews 9:27). What response does God require? \u201c<strong>8.\nBut what saith it? The word is nigh thee, <em>even<\/em> in thy mouth, and in thy\nheart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9. That if thou shalt\nconfess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that\nGod hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10. For with the heart\nman believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto\nsalvation<\/strong>\u201d (Romans 10:8\u201310).
