{"id":532,"date":"2019-03-31T19:32:10","date_gmt":"2019-04-01T00:32:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/biblicalpath.com\/?p=532"},"modified":"2019-08-18T19:13:06","modified_gmt":"2019-08-19T00:13:06","slug":"lesson-45-psalms-107-150-book-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/biblicalpath.com\/index.php\/2019\/03\/31\/lesson-45-psalms-107-150-book-5\/","title":{"rendered":"Lesson 6 (Lesson 45):  Psalms 107-150:  Book 5"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Key Verse<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll scripture <em>is<\/em> given by inspiration of God, and <em>is<\/em> profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:\u201d\u00a0 <strong>II Timothy 3:16<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Read the Key Verse with your class.\u00a0 Ask your students if they have ever tried to play a game with someone without reading the instructions.\u00a0 Could the game be played?\u00a0 Was there arguing over unknown rules?\u00a0 Was it a peaceful game? Or was there much disagreeing going on?\u00a0 Was it a good game?\u00a0 Could there be a winner?\u00a0 Was it any fun?\u00a0 Living a Christian life without reading the \u201crules\u201d is impossible to do.\u00a0 Do you know what the rules are? (God\u2019s Word.)\u00a0 Read today\u2019s memory verse together with your class.\u00a0 Help them understand it using the following definitions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>inspiration of God:<\/strong> <em>breathed by God; divinely inspired<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>profitable:<\/strong> <em>helpful; useful; advantageous<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>doctrine:<\/strong> <em>instruction in the sense of a warning<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>reproof:<\/strong> <em>learning to refute (defeat or overthrow) adversaries (enemies)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>correction:<\/strong> <em>set right; correct<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>instruction:<\/strong> <em>setting right that which is wrong<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Notice that this verse builds upon itself in its instruction.\u00a0 They are interdependent (mutually dependent) upon each other.\u00a0 First we see it is a doctrine (used for instruction or warning), then as truth (knowing the truth convincing us of error), correction (morally correct), and instruction (we see discipline to lead us to righteousness.)\u00a0 Keep this in mind as we study the final book of the Psalms today.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Summary:<\/strong>\u00a0 Today we continue with the second of the Personal books, Psalms.\u00a0 Remember that the Psalms is broken up into 5 books.\u00a0 We will look at book five of the Psalms (chapters 107-150) today, comparing them to the book of Deuteronomy.\u00a0 If you remember, the main theme of Deuteronomy was the second giving of the Law to the new generation and teaching the people of God\u2019s Word.\u00a0 They were then prepared to continue walking with God into the Promised Land.<\/p>\n<p>Deuteronomy is a book that began by looking back at what God had done for His people.\u00a0 The rest of the book is looking forward to what God would do.\u00a0 Throughout the entire book, it showed the faithfulness of God and revealed that God loved his people.\u00a0 Moses warned the people not to forget the words of God\u2019s law.<\/p>\n<p>Today we will compare the remembrance in Deuteronomy (remembering what God had done and the importance of the Words He had given His people), to the fifth book of the Psalms.\u00a0 We will see that Psalms 107-150 is mainly about the importance of God\u2019s Word (Psalm 119 is a praise of God\u2019s Word).<\/p>\n<p>Encourage your students to bring their Bibles and use them!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Emphasis:\u00a0 <\/strong>Remember what God has done, and then understand the importance of God\u2019s Word.\u00a0 After this, we learn the importance of walking with God, and we can praise Him with our whole heart.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Optional Worksheets to be downloaded:<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/biblicalpath.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Lesson-45-Volume-1-Childrens-Worksheet-1.pdf\">Lesson 45 &#8211; Volume 1 Children&#8217;s Worksheet 1<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/biblicalpath.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Lesson-45-Volume-1-Childrens-Reinforcement-Worksheet.pdf\"><strong>Lesson 45 &#8211; Volume 1 Children&#8217;s Reinforcement Worksheet<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ideas for children:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Stickers always work well with children.
