{"id":418,"date":"2018-11-26T07:11:02","date_gmt":"2018-11-26T13:11:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/biblicalpath.com\/?p=418"},"modified":"2019-08-18T19:06:35","modified_gmt":"2019-08-19T00:06:35","slug":"lesson-29-judges-1-12-decline-of-the-judges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/biblicalpath.com\/index.php\/2018\/11\/26\/lesson-29-judges-1-12-decline-of-the-judges\/","title":{"rendered":"Lesson 3 (Lesson 29):  Judges 1-12: Decline of the Judges"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Key Verse:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe eyes of the LORD <em>are<\/em> in every place, beholding the evil and the good.\u201d\u00a0 <strong>Proverbs 15:3<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Read the Key Verse with your class.\u00a0 Ask your students if they can see everything all of the time.\u00a0 Help them understand that we are limited in what we can see.\u00a0 God is not.\u00a0 Help them understand that God can see everything, everywhere, all of the time!\u00a0 Even when we don\u2019t think God knows what is going on, He does.\u00a0 Today we see what happens to a people who forgot God.\u00a0 The people turned their heart from Him and did evil.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Summary:<\/strong>\u00a0 Judges was a sad time in Israel\u2019s history.\u00a0 Notice:\u00a0 Judges 3:7 \u201cAnd the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD, and forgat the LORD their God, and served Baalim and the groves.\u201d\u00a0 \u00a0They did not obey the commands God had given them.\u00a0 There was a vicious cycle that began of the people forsaking God, God allowing the enemy to oppress the people, the people crying out to God, and God sending a deliverer (a judge) to end the oppression.\u00a0 (They had a people and land but rejected their God.)\u00a0 We see the rejection go from actions to a verbal request.\u00a0 In spite of the people\u2019s rejection of God, we see that God never forsook His people.\u00a0 He continued to send a deliverer each time they cried out.<\/p>\n<p>Encourage your students to bring their Bibles and use them!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Emphasis:\u00a0 <\/strong>The people in Judges became like the people who lived in Canaan land, the people they did not remove from the land.\u00a0 When they became like them, their hearts were turned from God and God allowed the enemies to oppress them.\u00a0 We, today, must not be like the world around us, or they will turn our hearts from God.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Optional Worksheets to be downloaded:<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/biblicalpath.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Lesson-29-Volume-1-Childrens-Worksheet-1.pdf\">Lesson 29 &#8211; Volume 1 Children&#8217;s Worksheet 1<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/biblicalpath.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Lesson-29-Volume-1-Childrens-Reinforcement-Worksheet.pdf\">Lesson 29 &#8211; Volume 1 Children&#8217;s Reinforcement Worksheet<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ideas for children:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Stickers always work well with children.
