{"id":385,"date":"2018-10-21T19:45:33","date_gmt":"2018-10-22T00:45:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/biblicalpath.com\/?p=385"},"modified":"2019-08-18T19:03:29","modified_gmt":"2019-08-19T00:03:29","slug":"lesson-24-deuteronomy-1-11-remembering-the-past-reviewing-gods-laws","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/biblicalpath.com\/index.php\/2018\/10\/21\/lesson-24-deuteronomy-1-11-remembering-the-past-reviewing-gods-laws\/","title":{"rendered":"Lesson 11 (Lesson 24):  Deuteronomy 1 \u2013 11:   Remembering the Past &#038; Reviewing God\u2019s Laws"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Key Verse<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.\u201d\u00a0 <strong>Deuteronomy 6:5<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Go over the memory verse with them.\u00a0 Encourage them understand we are to love God with all of our heart, soul and might.\u00a0 Help them know the way we show God we love Him is to obey Him in every area of our life (see what Jesus said in John 14:15:\u00a0 \u201cIf ye love me, keep my commandments.\u201d).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Summary:<\/strong>\u00a0 What God wanted most from his people was for them to love Him with all of their heart, soul and might.\u00a0 If they would have done that, they would not have had to be constantly reminded to obey God and His laws.\u00a0 They would have <strong><em>shown<\/em><\/strong> their love for him by their remembrance and their obedience.\u00a0 We see in the book of Deuteronomy that God reminds this new generation who He is.\u00a0 He reminds them of the promises and the deliverance he had shown their fathers.\u00a0 He continues by reminding them what he expects from them.\u00a0 And most importantly; they are to teach these things to their children.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the entire book, it shows the faithfulness of God and reveals that God loves his people.<\/p>\n<p>Encourage your students to bring their Bibles and use them!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Emphasis: \u00a0<\/strong>To show God we love Him with all of our heart, soul and might by our obedience to Him and to our parents.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Optional Worksheets to be downloaded:<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/biblicalpath.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Lesson-24-Volume-1-Childrens-Worksheet.pdf\">Lesson 24 &#8211; Volume 1 Children&#8217;s Worksheet<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/biblicalpath.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Lesson-24-Volume-1-Childrens-Reinforcement-Worksheet.pdf\">L<strong>esson 24 &#8211; Volume 1 Children&#8217;s Reinforcement Worksheet<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ideas for children:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Stickers always work well with children.
