{"id":281,"date":"2018-07-30T06:09:07","date_gmt":"2018-07-30T11:09:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/biblicalpath.com\/?p=281"},"modified":"2019-08-18T18:56:09","modified_gmt":"2019-08-18T23:56:09","slug":"lesson-12-review-old-testament-divisions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/biblicalpath.com\/index.php\/2018\/07\/30\/lesson-12-review-old-testament-divisions\/","title":{"rendered":"Lesson 12:  Review:  Old Testament Divisions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Key Verse<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do <em>it<\/em>, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments.\u201d <strong>Ezra 7:10<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Understanding the Key Verse:<\/strong>\u00a0 Before beginning today\u2019s lesson, consider today\u2019s key verse.\u00a0 Christians should adhere to this verse.\u00a0 We must prepare our hearts to seek the law of the Lord (God\u2019s Word).\u00a0 We must live it out in our lives, and then proceed to tell others.\u00a0 Then we will be able to teach others \u2013 first by the way we live our lives, then by being a verbal witness to others.\u00a0 It must happen in this order.\u00a0 Just as we see it in Ezra 7:10.\u00a0 It is important to know God\u2019s Word.\u00a0 That is why we are studying it in detail.<\/p>\n<p>Since this is a review, encourage your students to do most of the \u201ctelling\u201d this week.\u00a0 Encourage them to \u201cunload\u201d all the knowledge they have of the Old Testament on you.\u00a0 This will also help you, the teacher, know where your classes\u2019 deficiencies in Old Testament knowledge stand.\u00a0 Then you can focus more on you classes\u2019 needs.<\/p>\n<p>Always use your Bible.\u00a0 Become very familiar with it.\u00a0 To help in the understanding of the Old Testament, first \u2013find Esther 10 in your Bible and hold Genesis through Esther 10 in your left hand.\u00a0 Next, hold the rest of the Old Testament (Job \u2013 Malachi) in your right hand.\u00a0 Understand that everything in your right hand takes place in the time-frame your left hand is holding.<\/p>\n<p>Review and be prepared to share about the following looking back to Lesson 4 for additional information.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ideas for review:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Make it a game for your students to tell you which book is found in which division<\/li>\n<li>Have them tell you what each book is about.<\/li>\n<li>Let them tell you an event from each book. (Be prepared to tell one if no one has one!)<\/li>\n<li>Have Old Testament Bible Drills<\/li>\n<li>Use any (or all) of the resource reviews you have made this quarter.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Above all, encourage your students to want to <em>know<\/em> the Bible!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Optional Worksheets to be downloaded:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/biblicalpath.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Lesson-12-Volume-1-Childrens-Worksheet-1.pdf\"><strong>Lesson 12 Volume 1 Children\u2019s Worksheet<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/biblicalpath.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Lesson-12-Volume-1-Childrens-Reinforcement-Worksheet.pdf\">Lesson 12 &#8211; Volume 1 Children&#8217;s Reinforcement Worksheet<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ideas for children:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In any lesson, you may want to work on your coloring timeline \u2013 especially when it relates to the lesson.<\/p>\n<p>Display the poster of the books of the Old Testament (may be downloaded from lesson 4 blog). Review the books and the five divisions (showing them on the poster).\u00a0 Review the 3&#215;5 cards if you made them, practicing the divisions.\u00a0 Focus on putting the books in order for today\u2019s lesson.\u00a0 Be encouraged to memorize them!<\/p>\n<p>If you drew pictures of different events from each division, you could compile them into folders &#8211; one for each division (see picture below).<\/p>\n<p>There are many free coloring sheets online.\u00a0 Just type in a favorite for review and search away!
