{"id":225,"date":"2018-06-25T06:17:29","date_gmt":"2018-06-25T11:17:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/biblicalpath.com\/?p=225"},"modified":"2019-08-18T18:55:13","modified_gmt":"2019-08-18T23:55:13","slug":"lesson-7-five-personal-books-job-song-of-solomon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/biblicalpath.com\/index.php\/2018\/06\/25\/lesson-7-five-personal-books-job-song-of-solomon\/","title":{"rendered":"Lesson 7:   Five Personal Books: Job \u2013 Song of Solomon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Key Verse<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee.\u201d <strong>Job 42:5 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Has anyone ever \u201cheard\u201d of God? \u00a0Has anyone seen God?\u00a0 (Moses saw the back of God as He passed by \u2013 that\u2019s all we know of.)\u00a0 What does it really mean when someone says they\u2019ve \u201cseen\u201d God?\u00a0 (Explain that the person has seen God move in their life through events.)<\/p>\n<p>In this lesson, we are going to begin looking at some men in the Bible who wanted to know God better.\u00a0 These men wanted to communicate with God, and wanted to know Him better.\u00a0 Their words collectively are the five Personal books, each book written as poems and some as songs.\u00a0 The five Personal books are called such because they deal very personally with man.\u00a0 Each book deals with different individual\u2019s experiences with God:\u00a0 <strong>Job<\/strong>, the men who wrote the <strong>Psalms<\/strong> (David, Moses, Asaph \u2013 who led the music, and others), King Solomon \u2013 as he recorded wise words in the <strong>Proverbs, <\/strong>when he wrote about the vanity of life apart from God in <strong>Ecclesiastes<\/strong>, and as he wrote of the beauty of a perfect love in marriage in<strong> Song of Solomon.\u00a0 <\/strong>They mainly deal with the individual\u2019s heart issues as they seek to know and understand God better.\u00a0 We often set some these poems to music and sing them.\u00a0 We will emphasize and mention all five books.<\/p>\n<p>In this lesson it is important to recognize that \u201cseeing\u201d God is when someone sees God move in their life through events.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Optional Worksheets to be downloaded:<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/biblicalpath.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Lesson-7-Volume-1-Childrens-Worksheet-1.pdf\">Lesson 7 &#8211; Volume 1 Children&#8217;s Worksheet 1<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/biblicalpath.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Lesson-7-Volume-1-Childrens-Reinforcement-Worksheet.pdf\">Lesson 7 &#8211; Volume 1 Children&#8217;s Reinforcement Worksheet<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ideas for children:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In any lesson, you may want to work on your coloring timeline \u2013 especially when it relates to the lesson.<\/p>\n<p>Review the 3&#215;5 cards if you made them, practicing the divisions.\u00a0 Focus on putting the Personal books in order for today\u2019s lesson.<\/p>\n<p>Display the poster of the books of the Old Testament (may be downloaded from the Lesson 4 Blog). Review the five Personal Books (showing them on the poster).\u00a0 You may have them write or draw a picture of their favorite event from the Personal books.<\/p>\n<p>It would be good to have a special time set aside each week for prayer. Encourage your students to discuss any prayer requests they may have.\u00a0 Help them understand the importance of prayer.\u00a0 If they do not know how to pray, help them learn and become comfortable praying aloud.\u00a0 You may want to begin by learning <strong>The Lord\u2019s Prayer<\/strong> together.\u00a0 This is an example of prayer that Jesus gave to His disciples.\u00a0 Not only will they learn the basics of praying, but they will become more comfortable speaking prayers aloud.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.\u00a0 Thy kingdom come.
