{"id":214,"date":"2018-06-18T05:54:50","date_gmt":"2018-06-18T10:54:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/biblicalpath.com\/?p=214"},"modified":"2019-08-18T18:55:00","modified_gmt":"2019-08-18T23:55:00","slug":"lesson-6-twelve-historical-books-joshua-esther","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/biblicalpath.com\/index.php\/2018\/06\/18\/lesson-6-twelve-historical-books-joshua-esther\/","title":{"rendered":"Lesson 6:   Twelve Historical Books:   Joshua \u2013 Esther"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Key Verse<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cRemember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent&#8230;\u201d\u00a0 <strong>Revelation 3:3a<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Can you remember anything about what we have been studying so far?\u00a0 The whole point of this study is to help us to remember the events in the Bible.\u00a0 Remember is the key word.\u00a0 If we don\u2019t remember and hold fast to what we learn from God\u2019s Word, we will never grow in Christ.\u00a0 The more we learn about God\u2019s Word, the more we want to be like Him.<\/p>\n<p>In this lesson we will generally overview the 12 Historical Books.\u00a0 We have already discussed the importance of learning the history in the Bible.\u00a0 By learning it, we begin to understand the significance of why things happened.\u00a0 God had a plan.\u00a0 It is hard to understand unless you learn the Old Testament history.\u00a0 While it was happening, men didn\u2019t fully understand what that plan was, but through faith they believed.\u00a0 The more we learn about the Bible, the more pieces of the puzzle we can fit together.\u00a0 Each piece helps us become better students of God\u2019s Words, helping us become better Christians.<\/p>\n<p>This study ends the time frame of the Old Testament.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Optional Worksheets to be downloaded:<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/biblicalpath.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Lesson-6-Volume-1-Childrens-Worksheet.pdf\">Lesson 6 &#8211; Volume 1 Children&#8217;s Worksheet<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/biblicalpath.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Lesson-6-Volume-1-Childrens-Reinforcement-Worksheet.pdf\">Lesson 6 &#8211; Volume 1 Children&#8217;s Reinforcement Worksheet<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ideas for children:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In any lesson, you may want to work on your coloring timeline \u2013 especially when it relates to the lesson.<\/p>\n<p>Display the poster of the books of the Old Testament (may be downloaded from lesson 4 blog).\u00a0 Review the books of History (showing them on the poster).<\/p>\n<p>Reemphasize the importance of remembering this history we are studying (have them recall a few events you discussed).\u00a0 You may have them draw a picture of their favorite story from the History.\u00a0 Obviously all of the history is too much to grasp all at once.\u00a0 These first few lessons are only to whet one\u2019s appetite to want to learn more about God\u2019s Word.\u00a0 For now, we want to focus on the basics of the order of the Bible and understanding how it fits together.
