There are countless people who believe\nthere are \u201cmany\u201d ways to get to heaven. We can see this evidenced in numerous\nreligions out there that promise eternal life in heaven. These religions (and\npersonal opinions) give false hope of eternal life because they do not teach\nthere is only One way; Jesus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus spent much time teaching, and the\nmost important thing He came to reveal was the truth about eternity. He taught\nabout the Strait Gate. After telling of the importance of entering in at the\nstrait gate, He explained: \u201cBecause strait is<\/em>\nthe gate, and narrow is<\/em> the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there\nbe that find it<\/strong>\u201d (Matthew 7:13-14).\nThis Strait Gate leads to life, yet few find it (it is also called the door of\nthe sheep in John 10:7). Jesus is that Gate (Door). This is a picture of\nSalvation through faith in Jesus. Those who enter by \u201cother\u201d ways, think<\/em><\/strong>\nthey are heading to life eternal. When one rejects Jesus, they often choose an\neasier path than the strait and narrow path that Jesus requires.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is why while continuing in the\nChristian life, one will find other people who declare they are a Christian,\nyet who do not hold the truth of God\u2019s Word in their hearts \u2013 those who have\nnot gained salvation through Jesus. They may challenge your Christian faith. \u201c5. Having a form of godliness, but denying the\npower thereof: from such turn away … 7. Ever learning, and never able to\ncome to the knowledge of the truth<\/strong>\u201d (2 Timothy 3:5, 7). We are\nwarned to turn away from their \u201cform of godliness.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus gave another warning to help us\nunderstand this. \u201cNot every one\nthat saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he\nthat doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven<\/strong>\u201d (Matthew 7:21).\nWho will enter the kingdom of heaven? We just read, \u201che that doeth the will of my Father.<\/strong>\u201d What is the will of\nhis Father? It is to \u201center ye in at the strait\ngate,<\/strong>\u201d which is to believe in Jesus for salvation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Right after this, we read what Jesus taught\nabout two very different men. One He called a wise man. This man He likened to\none who heard the teachings of Jesus and did them. This man built his house\nupon a rock. A rock is solid and does not move. \u201cAnd the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and\nbeat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock<\/strong>\u201d\n(Matthew 7:25). Whatever opposed the\nwise man, his house stood, for it was founded upon Jesus, the Rock: \u201c\u2026 <\/strong>and that Rock was Christ<\/strong>\u201d (1\nCorinthians 10:4b).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The other man he called a foolish man. \u201cAnd every one that heareth these sayings of\nmine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his\nhouse upon the sand<\/strong>\u201d (Matthew 7:26).\nWhat made him foolish? He heard Jesus\u2019 teachings, yet did not do them. This is\nbuilding a house upon the sand \u2013 for it is constantly shifting or moving.\n(Religions and man\u2019s opinions continually change.) What happens when one builds\ntheir house upon the sand? \u201cAnd\nthe rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that\nhouse; and it fell: and great was the fall of it<\/strong>\u201d (Matthew 7:27). Not only does the foolish man\u2019s house\nfall when troubles come, but that fall is great.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Christians will encounter people who have chosen numerous different paths, by many different men\u2019s teachings (religions\/opinions). They all sound much easier and quicker than the One true way that the Bible teaches. The journey may not appear easy, but Christians have the assurance that the Narrow Way is the Only<\/em><\/strong> way to life everlasting. In addition, Christians have God\u2019s written Word that was given to read which will help in this Christian life. Christians can learn many things in the Bible that are profitable, enabling them to become stable, building a strong house (life) upon the Rock that is Jesus. One should find comfort in God\u2019s Word that will help in this Christian life, teaching one what to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
